Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar??? Freebie and a Peek at my Classroom :)

Sunday, August 21, 2011
It was probably me :)  I love a good cookie! :)

Really quick, because we start school tomorrow and you all know how busy this weekend is, I have a little freebie for you.  I made this for one of my "get to know you" activities the first week of school.

I did not know of an easy way to upload the cookies so that you could type right onto them to put the students' names. You may be able to open the file in publisher or a graphics editing program and add a text box to type into OR you can go old school and actually WRITE the names :)

Anyway, click on the photos above to download.  I put the names on the cookies and then laminated and cut them out.  I have a jar that I will put them in and at the end of the poem the last person that "stole the cookie" will draw a new cookie out of the jar and we will start over.  *IF* there weren't any rules about healthy snacks in our county, I'd probably give them all a REAL cookie at the end of the activity....but I can't :(

Got a few several pics of my classroom that I took before Open House last week.  I always like to see other classrooms so thought I'd post mine too:

If you've already started back - I hope it is going GREAT!  If you are just starting back like me, GOOD LUCK!  Hope its a great year for all of us!!!!  Now, if I could only get some sleep tonight!

    1. I could have sworn I replied to this a long time ago, but the reply is missing! The kids on the wall are clear repositionable wall stickers. I got them from Michaels and they are by "Me and My Big Ideas". Just found them on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Me-My-Ideas-Removable-Sticker/dp/B0058SHNGS

  2. Thank you so much for the cookie name game. I am going to put labels with the children's name on them and laminate in the morning. Tomorrow is my first day with the class. Your classroom is beautiful. I love the colors!

  3. Hi Cindy! I'm not sure how I stumbled onto your teaching blog, but somehow I did! I think I was googling educational links for my son Dean, who just started kindergarten 2 weeks ago!! AAACCKKK! Anyway, I love your blog - your classroom looks great and I bookmarked several fun things I plan to use as enrichment activities at home!! Dean's K teacher, who is young (3rd year teacher) and excited and we love her, seems great and I'm thrilled that she is doing a class blog this year. What a great tool! I hope you're doing well and have a great year!! Miss you in Craft Land! ;-) Keep in touch!

  7. My kids loved singing the song. I read them "Who Took the Cookies from the Cookie Jar?" by Bonnie Lass and Philemon Sturges first. They loved trying to figure out which animal took the cookies.

P.S. Your room looks great! Thanks for sharing the pics!
