Another Holiday Word Work/Center Freebie :)

Saturday, December 3, 2011 11 comments
I've got one more Word Work/Literacy Center printable.  I have a lot of Gingerbread Man Word Work activities that I love to put out this time of year - I love all of the different Gingerbread Man/Girl/Cowboy, etc.... books and they are such good books for sequencing events and retelling.  I made a new one ....This is Gingerbread Man Hunt (for sight word review).  I am going to "hide" the cards around the room (like "Read the Room", but sort of half-hidden where the kids might see part of the cards peeking out).  Once they find a Gingerbread Man they have to read the sight word then write the sight word on the answer sheet next to the same number that is on the card.  Click on the photo below if you'd like this:

Holiday Centers!

Well, the countdown is on!  13 more school days until winter break for us!  This is a busy time for planning...things you HAVE to do, things you WANT to do (have to sneak those in!).  I talk about about Christmas, Santa, etc... in our classroom.  The students would anyway if I didn't.  I am very sensitive to students that don't celebrate but also sort of feel that they need to have the "schema" so it's not a forbidden subject in my class.  I know some schools or teachers don't like to get into that it therefore celebrate "holidays".  That's understandable.  Anyway, I've got both covered for you :)  I have a Christmas Read, Trace, Write and Draw and a December Read, Write, Trace and Draw.  You can use either (if you don't do "Christmas" in your classroom) or both!  Get BOTH of these for only $1.00 at Teachers Pay Teachers!

A couple of quick Thanksgiving Center Freebies

Sunday, November 13, 2011 3 comments
I just whipped up a few super easy Word Work center activities for Thanksgiving.  The first one is a Thanksgiving version of Read, Write, Stamp and Draw.  (The students read the word, write the word by tracing the letters, stamp the word with rubber stamps and draw a picture that represents that word).  Click on the image to download.

For the next one you'll just need crayons and sentence strips.  Each student gets the letters to spell "Thanksgiving".  They color the letters, mix them up and then paste them back in order on a sentence strip.  There are two pages to this download - Thanks and giving.  Click on photo below to download.

Tried to post a photo but I can't seem to rotate it - guess you'll just have to rotate your head instead :)

iPad Spelling Freebie

Saturday, November 12, 2011 18 comments

I made an "iPad" for students to practice their spelling words.  They will write the words in the spaces at the top and then "type" them on the "keyboard" at the bottom.  If you want it, just click on the photo to go to my store at Teachers Pay Teachers to download it for FREE!
