GREAT for Word Work, Literacy Centers, Guided Reading and RTI/Interventions!

Your favorite characters from the movie "The Secret Life of Pets" are the stars of this fun sight words game! Students will correctly read sight words to collect as many cards as they can. While playing, they will encounter 6 "action" cards which can cause them to gain or lose cards, including the dreaded "Animal Control" card which will cause them to put ALL of their cards back!

This download includes:
220 Dolch sight words cards (all levels: Primer - Third Grade) and 6 "Action" Cards (you can make additional copies of these cards to add to the game if you'd like a little more adventure :)

Cards are leveled so you can print and play with all levels or only the levels you need.

Planner Love - Printable Planner Stickers

Sunday, January 10, 2016 No comments

I've fallen in love with my planner :)  A while back I started seeing all the cute, trendy planners out there on Pinterest and Instagram and got obsessed.  I searched for the best planner...Erin Condren, Plum Paper, The Happy Planner, Filofax, etc....  I decided on MAMBI's Happy Planner and I love it.

You might look at my photo and think that's not very functional - any you'd be right.  I use my iPhone to keep me on track with where to be, what I need, what to do, etc..., but my planner....I guess you can say it's my journal - my crafty, fun, total expression of me journal.  I have been decorating it and writing down things that happened that day, things I am thinking that week, things I like or don't like. Just memories and a record of what's going on.  I've been keeping lists and just... whatever.

Since I've been obsessing on this planner, I've started making printable planner stickers and embellishments to go in it.  I've been posting them in my Etsy shop and it seems other folks are liking them too :)  Below are a few of the "Printable Planner Stickers" I've currently got listed.  I have two versions of each set - one of fit The Happy Planner by MAMBI/Create 365 (the planner I have) and another version to fit Erin Condren, Plum Paper, and other planners because the boxes/dimensions are a bit different between them.

Click on the pictures to see more....

I've got some "Lilly" inspired sets too....

These are "printable" stickers that come in the form of an instant download.  They can be printed on regular copy paper, sticker paper (or full sheet label paper), cardstock, etc.  If printing on regular (non-sticky paper), you can use glue, other adhesives, washi tape, or xyron to adhere the stickers.  Some of the smaller images and icons can be cut with a circle cutter or punch.  Make sure your printer is set to print at "actual size" so the dimensions of the stickers will be correct.  The images can be cut out with scissors, a paper cutter, or xacto knife.  I have kept most of the lines straight for the easiest way to cut.  I have also included a "punch page" to use with your favorite punches or used to create other embellishments of your choice.

You may see a few more Planner posts in the future.... stay tuned :)

Now to Veteran's Day.....
I have some new freebies just in time for Veterans Day!

The first one is a foldable book that gives some basic facts about Veterans Day that students can color.  I always tell my students to take things like this home and tell their parents about what they have learned.  I like that this is short and sweet and to the point.  We read this in class and it gives a starting point to expand the conversation and talk about Veterans Day.  Then student color their own books.

Click on the picture to download this from Google Drive.  Fold in half and then fold in half again to make this into a "book".

Next I have a printable poem, actually it is a SONG and a cloze activity to go with it.  We read and sing this several times in class.  It goes to the tune of  "O Christmas Tree".  The students then get the cloze activity and fill in the missing words (these are printed two per page to save paper).  I have students glue this in a poetry notebook and draw a picture to go with it, but this could be glued to a larger paper and have student draw a picture to go with it there too.  Click on it to download:
I have a feeling November is going to fly by......

Teacher Subway Art - Great For Gifts or For Your OWN Classroom!

Sunday, October 12, 2014 No comments
I've just added a new item to my Teachers Pay Teachers store - This is something a little different!  This is an editable print to make your own Teacher Subway Art!  All you do is type over the existing teacher name and school name to the name and school name of your choice and PRINT!  VERY EASY!  The fonts are embedded into the PowerPoint file (Yes, you'll need PowerPoint to open it) so the fonts will stay the same as shown when you type over it.  Here's the copy I printed and framed:

This is made to fit into an 8x10 frame (cutting marks will show you where to cut this to fit into the frame).  Just print and frame and you have an easy, inexpensive - but GREAT personalized gift for your favorite teacher or for your own classroom!

Here's a closer look at the download - you will just type over the teacher name and school name to the names of your choice:

I've purchased some frames from the dollar store in the past that would go great with this.  This is a GREAT gift idea - especially if you have multiple teacher gifts to get!  All you need is one download (it's only $3.00) and you can use that one download to print as many teacher gifts as you need. Pair that with inexpensive dollar store frames and you definitely won't break the bank!!!

One thing to mention, if you have a Mac, embedded fonts won't work with PowerPoint for Mac so you'd have to use a PC to edit this and then you could save it and print it from your Mac, if needed.

"First Day of First Grade" sign FREEBIE

Thursday, July 31, 2014 No comments
Each year on the first day of school I take an individual photo of each child holding up a sign that says "My First Day in First Grade".  I upload the photos to Sams Club or Target to have them developed and send them home to parents sometime during the first week (usually on the Friday of the first week).  Parents love getting these photos!  I made a few signs - first started with a chalkboard style, then decided something colorful may be better....anyway, I put them up on my Teachers Pay Teachers store for FREE if you'd like one.  And a little tip...print on cardstock if possible, it'll hold up better :)

Also....Don't forget to enter my raffle right here for a three month subscription to FarFaria!!!  This is a SWEET prize!!!

By the way, I'm all ready for the BIG sale at Teachers Pay Teachers!!!  All of my products will be 20% off , BUT you can save 28% at my store on August 4-5 by entering the promo code BTS14 at checkout!!!!

End of Year Treats :) Bookworms Freebie and Tutorial

Sunday, May 25, 2014 3 comments

Saw this on Pinterest....

and thought it was the cutest idea to include with my End of Year gifts to my students.

I came up with this:

Bag Toppers are pretty simple to make, but I have a few tricks to make it easier.  If you'd like a copy of the toppers I made, click on the printable below to download the PDF:

These are made to fit snack-sized baggies that are 6.5" wide.

This is important - if your print straight from the Google Docs link above, deselect the "Fit to Page" button!  Make sure this button is not selected or the toppers will print too small for the baggies.

If you downloaded the link and saved it, make sure you have the "Actual Size" button selected to print when printing the PDF.  (Sometimes it automatically changes to "Shrink Oversized Pages" and you don't want it to do that or it won't fit the baggie).

After printing, I like to score the fold lines prior to cutting.  This is optional and just makes them easier to fold.  I have a scoring board at home, but if you do not, you can use a ruler, something with a dull edge like a craft stick and a soft area to put the paper on - like a mouse pad or a piece of foam, as shown below.

Next cut out the toppers on the green solid line.  Then you'll just need some gummy worms to put in the baggies.  Attach the toppers to the baggie with a few staples and your all set!

Make sure to check out my Summer Reading printable on Teachers Pay Teachers to hand out with the Bookworm treats.  Use this to encourage your students to READ this Summer!
