Smarties Certificates

Three. More. Days.

:)  Even better than that.....the last three days are all half days!!!  But don't worry, we don't get the afternoons free to do things like, well PACK UP.  We'll have meetings and other stuff to do.  We can pack up on our own time, right?  I spent my Saturday at school yesterday.  I was there from 10:00 to 4:30 packing.  I had to leave at 4:30 and left my room looking like a tornado hit so I'll be back today to get it presentable for tomorrow.  We are not allowed to leave any of our (personal) furniture in our classes over the summer, nor or we allowed to leave anything on the book shelves or counters.  In other words, I have to move out and bring multiple car loads of furniture (book cases, chairs, HUGE teacher easel/cart, storage carts, etc) and other stuff home because there is no where near enough cabinet space (which is where you have to put everything) in our classrooms.  I'll stop venting now :)

Anyway, between moving my class and then moving things in my home around to make room to move my classroom in, I made up a little end-of-year certificate for my students.  I saw some cute certificates on TPT, but I would have to decide who was the best reader, best speller, etc.... and I don't like to do that because that can cause problems :)  Plus, its just too darn hard to choose - they are all awesome kids!!!  I found these "Smarties" candies at the dollar store.  These are in pouches.  I made up some certificates to go with them.
The certificates will work with either type of Smarties - in the pouches or the traditional Smarties in a roll.  Click below if you would like to download the certificates.  Just write in the student's name in the middle and your name and date at the bottom and attach a candy pouch or roll to the bottom corner.

The color is bad in this photo, but here is what they look like when the candy is attached:

Happy Sunday!

  3. Great idea! That stinks that you have to take everything home. We have to pack up our whole room (even if we aren't moving) but the furniture can stay. Good luck!

  10. Hi Cindy,

Love the certificates!!! Especially because like you said, you don't have to make the dreaded "you did this best..." choice. Would you be willing to make a third grade one? I have one student in third grade in my class and I would love to give her one of these cute certificates too!

    Thanks so much

  11. Love this certificate!... Too bad I visited your blog after buying some at the nearest teacher store... I might use it next year but there are always first graders being retained so I'm not sure what their parents would think if I give them one of these... Anyways, love your blog... This is my first year of teaching and I'm now your newest follower/neighbor... I live in Sarasota, FL :)

PS. I have to move my whole classroom too as it will be used for summer school :(
